Tips on choosing the right bathroom cabinets

If you spend half of your life sleeping, you must spend at least one third in the bathroom.

Choosing the right layout and fixtures for your bathroom can be a tricky job.

The room is practical and needs to be versatile, but the look and feel of a bathroom is also of the utmost importance.

Generally speaking, the cabinet doors will create the aura of a room, whether you are speaking bathrooms or kitchens.

But bathroom cabinets also need to be suitable for the space and functionality for which they are required.

Types of bathroom cabinets

There are several different types of bathroom cabinets to choose from including;

Glass-fronted cabinet doors - these can be made of see-through or frosted glass;

Laminate doors - these are the most water-proof alternative and can be found in a range of fashionable colours and styles;

Wooden doors - it is usually best if this is stained wood, and a cabinet door made to withstand steam and wet areas; and

Steel doors - becoming more fashionable in "minimalist" homes.

To choose the right bathroom cabinet door for you, first determine the colour scheme you wish to carry throughout your bathroom. If this is an en-suite bathroom, the colour scheme may also match the adjoining bedroom too.

Then choose the materials which will suffice for functionality, but are also bathroom-safe.
